Cheshire Wildlife Trust are recruiting for a Wilder Communities Officer to
develop and deliver high quality community engagement activities across the Cheshire region –
with the goal of inspiring people to take action to bring local wildlife back.

Wilder Communities Officer

Salary:
£20,854 – £25,096

Contract type: Fixed term Contract for 12 months

Working hours: Full time

Location: Cheshire. A Cheshire Wildlife Trust operational base

Do you have a passion for working with people and communities, inspiring them with the natural
world?

Are you experienced in community engagement and/or community organising?

Do you want to be part of driving a movement and empowering people to take action for wildlife?

We have just the role for you!

Nature is in trouble. We have reached a tipping point. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and
nationally and our climate is in crisis. By 2030 we must see nature recovering, wildlife
returning and ecosystems restored and we need many, many more people on nature’s side. We
urgently need one in four people to take action to bring wildlife back across our region.

The Wilder Communities Officer will join the Wilder Engagement Team, responsible for supporting
people and communities to take the lead in designing and implementing the wilding of local
spaces. You will provide opportunities for people to connect to and learn more about wildlife,
as well as developing strong relationships with local stakeholders, partners and organisations
to grow our Champion network.

Our Wilder Communities work seeks to empower and mobilise individuals and communities via
self-sustaining networks and a community organising approach.

At Cheshire Wildlife Trust we embrace agile working with a focus on supporting you to achieve
your objectives alongside a healthy work-life balance. We operate a hybrid working policy with
most staff working at least part of the week from home and/or out on site.

Applications close at midnight on Sunday 16th April 2023.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the
role.

Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
