Applicants are invited for the post of Animal Technician within the Biomedical Research Facility based at University Hospital Southampton. With a reputation for excellence, the facility provides support for scientists carrying out medical research in areas such as cancer, osteoporosis, neurology, ophthalmology, asthma and nutrition. You will join a technical team and work between two units on the hospital site. Your main role will be undertaking day to day animal husbandry and welfare for a variety of animal species. The successful applicant would be given the opportunity to study for IAT qualifications.
Applicants must be willing to work out of normal working hours on a rota covering weekends, public and university holidays.
There are two job descriptions attached, one for Level 2A and one for Level 2B. You will be appointed to these, depending on qualifications and experience.
