Together, let’s transform the way the world pays.Job DescriptionOversee the daily operations of the Cardiff payment team, ensuring that daily tasks are carried out and queries are answered promptly.Manage the weekend schedule, ensuring two team members are always available to cover and alerting management if this is not possible.Approve payments, including Faster Payments, International Payments/SWIFT, ACH domestic payments, and global real-time payment schemes, in line with agreed cut-offs.Approve incoming liquidity within agreed timescales.Assist and support the team with general investigations and correctly resolve payment exceptions (e.g., rejections, returns, failures, etc.).Approve Network Partner statements, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.Correspond and liaise with Network Partners through email, telephone, and the SWIFT network to resolve issues promptly and minimize service/client impact.Develop an in-depth understanding of the payment platforms and our Network Partners across the globe.Actively seek to improve processes, workflows, and tooling.Support the identification, management, and resolution of service-affecting incidents.Effectively manage your time and that of the payment specialists to ensure all critical tasks are completed and deadlines are met.Collaborate with other internal teams, including Compliance, Reconciliation, Incident Management, and Customer Support, to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.Report on daily challenges, workloads, and improvement ideas.This is a hybrid position. You will be working weekends as well as 3 days mid week. Either Wednesday to Sunday or Saturday to Wednesday.QualificationsPreferred QualificationsProven experience as a Payment Team Lead or Analyst

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in banking software and payment processing systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, international payment schemes and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working as part of a global team
  • Experience working with Central Banks
