We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and capable postdoctoral researcher to join the Retinal Cell Biology Lab led by Dr Jörn Lakowski at the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary Faculty of Medicine’s Vision Group, composed of both basic scientists and clinicians, providing a rich environment for exciting professional and personal development. Supported by the research charity Retina UK, this translational research project will utilize innovative technologies in the area of human pluripotent stem cell derived retinal organoid cultures and transcriptomics. The candidate will have robust skills in molecular biology techniques as well as experience in pluripotent stem cell culture, retinal organoid differentiation, histology, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy. Experience with using the programming language R is desirable. The candidate must have excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.

Evidence of a successful track-record in research and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is required.
