We welcome applications from experienced academic staff working in Forensic Investigation or related areas and/or crime scene investigators to join our Centre of Excellence in Forensics to contribute to the management and delivery of our Forensic Investigation MSc and short courses.
About CFI
Cranfield Forensic Institute (CFI) provides a Centre of Excellence for the application of science, technology, and other areas to law enforcement particularly through niche areas of forensic science and security studies. For years, CFI has been a home for innovation, expertise, and a strong centre for student community. Cranfield University in conjunction with matched funding from South-East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) invested £7.2 million into the latest forensic equipment, and teaching spaces. It is into this rich and diverse environment that we continue to recruit experienced and industry relevant academic staff.
About the Role
The Teaching Fellow/Lecturer in Forensic Investigation will be responsible for the management and delivery of existing and new modules on the Forensic Investigation MSc that pertain to crime scene investigation and related subject areas. Responsibilities will also include management of teaching and practical facilities (e.g., crime scene rooms and house) in support of courses and research.
About You
The Teaching Fellow role would be suitable for someone entering an academic career and the Lecturer role suitable for someone experienced in research and/or teaching, and suitable for progression from a Teaching Fellow or similar role. You will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have significant operational experience in a crime scene investigators role for a UK police force or equivalent. You will hold the CSI Level 2 course or equivalent and should demonstrate previous lecturing experience in the field of crime scene investigation or related area. Appointment as a Crime Scene Manager with experience of managing major crime scenes and operations would be an advantage.
